Web Development

The NCC Web Development segment offers a five-weekend, hands-on Full-Stack Web Development Bootcamp that progresses from web fundamentals to building REST APIs. Participants begin with client–server concepts, HTML5, CSS, Tailwind CSS and JavaScript, then apply these skills to a responsive personal portfolio landing page.

The curriculum introduces Git and GitHub workflows, modern JavaScript and Next.js setup before covering routing, reusable React components, JSX, props and Hooks. Participants build a component-based portfolio interface and learn to manage interactive behavior.

The final two weekends focus on Python fundamentals and Django REST Framework. Through a student-management console application and a Student REST API, participants practise data structures, file handling, exception handling, models, serializers and CRUD operations. API testing with Postman or Thunder Client reinforces validation and REST conventions. The segment provides a structured foundation for further frontend and backend development.

Vision

Our vision is to help NCC participants progress from understanding how the web works to confidently building responsive interfaces and foundational backend services. Through a structured sequence of concepts and hands-on projects, the segment aims to develop clear coding habits, problem-solving skills and collaboration through Git and GitHub. By connecting HTML, CSS and JavaScript foundations with Next.js, React, Python and Django REST Framework, we aim to give learners a practical understanding of the technologies used across web development. Portfolio work, a console application and a tested CRUD API provide a foundation for continued learning and more advanced projects

Mission

- Understand web fundamentals, client–server architecture and frontend and backend development. - Build and present a responsive personal portfolio using HTML5, CSS, Tailwind CSS and JavaScript. - Add interactive behavior using events, DOM manipulation and basic form validation. - Use Git and GitHub for version control, branching, merging and pull requests. - Build a Next.js portfolio interface using reusable React components, props, JSX and Hooks. - Create a Python student-management console application with file storage and invalid-input handling. - Build a Django Student REST API supporting create, read, update and delete operations. - Test API endpoints with Postman or Thunder Client, validate data and follow REST conventions.
